Face to face therapy in Chorlton, Manchester and online across the UK.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, who come to me with a diverse range of problems. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.
I know starting therapy or meeting with a therapist for the first time can be daunting.
I was motivated to train as a psychotherapist after really benefitting from my own personal therapy. I am a passionate advocate of therapy's potential to change lives, deepen our self- understanding and develop more compassionate ways of relating to ourselves. However I believe it is important to find a therapist that is the right fit for you, so I offer a free no-obligation 30 minute face to face intial or online consultation.
I have experience of working as a counsellor in the voluntary sector and in an NHS specialist counselling service. Prior to my Psychotherapy training, I was a qualified Social Worker and have almost thirty years of professional experience working with adults who are experiencing challenges and emotional difficulties.
You may be struggling with anxiety, feel stressed or overwhelmed. You may be struggling with low self esteem, be overly self-critical and never feel good enough.
You may be struggling in your relationships with others or had adverse experiences
in past relationships. You may be experiencing family issues currently or have had adverse experiences in your childhood. You may have experienced pregnancy loss or be experiencing fertility difficulties. You may be keen to explore issues relating to adoption.
My training was trauma informed and underpinned by theories of interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory. I am a intergrative therapist, which means I tailor my approach to each individual and will use different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs and wants.

A safe and supportive space
I am a kind and compassionate therapist and aim to provide a space where you can feel safe and accepted and can speak freely, and reflect, without fear of judgement. I am warm, open-minded, non-jugdemental, embrace diversity and endeavour to provide a fully inclusive environment.
People I have supported, describe me as supportive, validating, insightful and kind.
I have provided counselling in an NHS pregnancy loss service and have experience of supporting women (and men) affected by pregnancy loss, recurrent miscarriage and fertility difficulties.
I spent many years in an Adoption Support agency as a Social Worker, providing births records counselling to adopted adults, acting as an intermediary and supporting adopted adults, birth family members and adoptive parents.
I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist with a level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy, my training course was BACP accredited. I also
have a Master's qualification in Social Work.
Working Together
I work very collaboratively, and we can work together to understand the difficulties you are experiencing. Our work together may involve exploring where current difficulties may stem from. Together we can identify the changes you wish to make and we can explore how to overcome any blocks and barriers to change.
Making changes towards a brighter future
Working with a therapist can assist us to process difficult experiences, recognise their impact and to move forwards. Therapy can assist us to become less critical and more supportive to ourselves, which generally leads to calmer, happier and more emotionally fufilled lives. My focus is on supporting you through our therapeutic relationship, to enable you to deepen your understanding and acceptance of yourself.
You may be seeking therapy due to a specific problem or life event. You could feel stuck and be aware that you are repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour. Or you may be feeling generally dissatisfied with life and wish to make sense of these feelings. I believe that therapy can be reparative, it can help us to address past difficulties and can help us become more self-supportive, which can reduce anxiety, stress and overwhelm and enable us to lead happier, calmer and more emotionally fufilled lives.
